DEFINITION OF NOUN AND THEIR KINDS
A noun is the name of the person, place, animal or thing.
Example: Ram, Agra, Lion, Chair etc.
There are different kinds of noun:
PROPER NOUN
It refers to a specific, unique person, place, or thing. It always start with a capitalized letter.
Example: Sarah, London, Monday etc.
COMMON NOUN
It refers to a general, non-specific item, person, or place.
Example: singer, city, day etc.
CONCRETE NOUN
It represents physical, tangible objects that can be perceived by the senses(sight, touch etc).
Example: desk, perfume, apple etc.
ABSTRACT NOUN
It represents intangible ideas, emotions, qualities, or concepts.
Example: friendship, courage, happiness etc.
COLLECTIVE NOUN
It represents the name of group of individuals or things regarded as a single unit.
Example: family, team, flock etc.
MATERIAL NOUN
It refers to raw materials or substances used to make things.
Example: gold, water, cotton etc.
COUNTABLE NOUN
It represents the items that can be counted and have plural forms.
Example: book/books, apple/apples
UNCOUNTABLE NOUN
It refers to the items that cannot be counted individually and usually lack plural forms.
Example: water, knowledge, information etc.
